"The greatest gift is a portion of thyself." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

We had the great opportunity to be a part of a very unique project for a client recently. He came to us under the cloak of night....okay not really, but he did come to us in secret: He wanted to surprise his longtime girlfriend with a special gift.

We recently completed a new wall hanging piece, titled We Grow Together.

The medium is sunken pecky cypress, which Joseph and his Father harvested and dried in Orangeburg, SC.

Please enjoy.

Last week we were happy to complete another commissioned project. Earlier in the year we completed a massive 12 ft dining room table with black walnuts bases and an ambrosia maple top. The client was so happy with her table that she decided to order a pair of matching custom benches for the table as well.

From the outside looking in, it probably appears that things have been really quiet around the shop lately. But on the inside, we've been buzzing with activity and making some new moves.

And when we say new moves, we really mean it. That's right, we are MOVING!

Hello and welcome to the brand new Joseph Thompson Woodworks blog! We are very excited to now be able to share with you what is going on in the shop directly. You can expect frequent posts on new pieces, materials, responsible harvesting practices, woodworking techniques, upcoming events, videos, photos, and more.
